About Us

Emerald Hills Cairns

High Quality Cairn Terrier Puppies and Adults.  Home Raised And LOVED!

Just a Little About Us:

My good friend, Jan Coen and I (Kathy DeWitt) are the owners of the Cairns.

I now have three males... (Pepper, Wulgar...alias...Wulfie, and Rafe "the Rascal".)

Jan owns four females, Meara, Karrin, Aislinn and Jenna.

Jan and I live about 5 miles apart. Jan and her family live closer to Bruceton Mills...just about a mile and a half from the exit off of Interstate 68.  The zip code for Bruceton is 26525 if you are interested in looking up our location on mapquest.com.

Bruceton Mills is about 2 hours south of Pittsburgh and two hours west of Hagerstown, Md...right off of Interstate 68.

My husband and I live about 4 to 5 miles from the interstate...further out in the country.

Our "Kennel" is really not a kennel...but our homes. Our dogs are our family pets......As I hope you can tell...our puppies are family raised, socialized, and most of all...loved.

This picture is of Jan and I with our very first litter of puppies! - I am getting the "puppy kisses" in the ear! - What fun we have with our little ones!

Jan and I realize how overwhelming it can get when searching for the right Cairn Terrier puppy for you and your family.   After careful consideration to purchase a puppy, we hope you will consider Emerald Hills Kennel....and we happily supply references as we keep in touch with our "extended famililies"!

The decision to purchase a Cairn Terrier puppy should not be taken lightly. Make sure your entire family has the time and patience to devote to a puppy. After all, a puppy is an important part of the family and will be for many years to come. Puppies need lots of love with daily care, training, and attention from you. Caring for your puppy means you must provide a high quality food, fresh non-chorine water, his own bed in a year-round comfortable area he can call his own, and regular visits to your veterinarian.

"Dogs are our link to paradise.  They don't know evil or jealousy or discontent.  To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring....it was peace."
                                       -Minlan Kundera

Ask Us A Question!!!

Pepper - Our Wheaten Male and Wulfgar..alias "Wulfie" -our Dark Brindle Male

Cairn Terriers are small enough to be carried anywhere and sturdy enough for rough-housing for children.

The Cairn Terrier is a peppy, very hardy little terrier.

This breed has a compact and strong body with a water-resistant coat and a fox-like expression. It is active and game; it is an effective watchdog. It is also very affectionate and makes a good family dog.
